If you are ordering your playstand with cup(s), and depending on the type of perch you request with your playstand or gym will determine the way the cup will be mounted.
12x12 PlayStands: we don't recommend cups due to small footprint, however, you can order it with a 5 oz cup if you like. One cup is recommended by us rather than two to give more room for the bird. Depending on the diameter of the perch will also determine how the cup will be mounted. Larger diameter perches are too thick for the screw to go completely through so we add a block to the bottom of the perch and attach the cup to it. Leave it to us to make it work perfect for you!
18x18 PlayStands and larger: can accommodate 10 oz side mounted cups. Stainless Steel cups will be mounted similar as picture above shows it on the 18x18 PlayStand due to larger diameter perch. (unless you are ordering the playstand with a 3/4" - 7/8"" diameter perch for a smaller bird, which then we can install the screw through the perch and attach the screw to back as shown in the 12x12 PlayStand above).
Either way we will mount the cups to best suit your playstand and perch.
Also, you can choose either stainless, coconut shell or plastic cups for 18x18 size and larger.
